To be a great photographer requires more than an expensive camera or a few courses in Photoshop. Sure, it’s about understanding light and composition, white balance, aperture, metering and a whole host of other technical aspects, but just as important it’s about connecting with the client and providing a custom experience from start to finish that will result in photographs that will be cherished for generations.

There are many photographers out there, so I think that it’s very important to do your research and to pick a photographer whose sense of style matches your own. Of course, budget is sometimes a factor in the decision also, but it helps to keep in perspective that your flat screen TV will eventually need to be replaced, your designer handbag will go out of style, the stroller and clothing and myriad other baby items that probably cost a small fortune will be obsolete in a few short years, but your child will only be this young once and those moments captured in photographs will be preserved for a lifetime.

If there’s one thing that I’ve found it’s that clients want ALL of their photos. Whether you plan on purchasing digital files, prints, or custom products such as canvases and albums, I recommend anticipating and investment of $800-$2,500 per session. Clients may purchase their photos a la carte or choose from one of four flexible collections.

Classic Portrait Session – $225

A photo session at any location within Connecticut for up to 4 people ($25 for each additional person), and an average of 20 to 30 retouched images, in both color and black & white, available for proofing in a private online gallery.

Newborn Portrait Session – $225

This includes a photo session at your home for your new baby (0-6 weeks only), and an average of 20 to 30 retouched images, in both color and black & white, available for proofing in a private online gallery.

Mini Session (returning clients only) – $525

Half the time, half the proofs. Perfect for when you just need a few photos for a special occasion or would like to update your collection. Includes three digital files and a $200 print credit.

Milestones Package – $575

One full session and two half sessions, split any way you’d like over 18 months. Includes one 5×7 from each session and a custom 10×20 storyboard at the conclusion. (order minimums do apply)

PLEASE NOTE: In order to offer clients exceptional customer service, handcrafted products, and a true custom portraiture experience, Kelli only accepts a limited number of appointments. Therefore, each portrait session is subject to a $250 order minimum (not including the session fee).

*All session fees include minor retouching and black and white conversions. Session fees are for the time and talent of the photographer and do NOT include any prints or digital negatives, unless otherwise noted. A $100 retainer is due at the time of booking and is non-refundable.

Portrait and Digital Collections

Kelli Dease Photography offers a variety of flexible collections which combine our most popular products with exclusive package savings. Collections range from $695 to $2,295.

Prints and Digital Negatives

Print prices start at $45 for a 5×7 print. Wall portrait prices start at $100 for an 11×14 portrait. Digital negatives range from $100 to $1,095.

Canvases

Canvas portraits are printed on high-grade artists’ canvas, stretcher-mounted, and ready to hang with no additional work needed. Prices start at $300 for a 16×20 Gallery Wrapped Canvas.

Storyboard Compositions

A custom designed composite of graphic elements, text and your favorite images from your session. Prices start at $175 for a 10×20 composite print mounted to foam-board and sprayed with a protective lustre coating. Ready for framing.

All sales, including the session fee, are subject to 6% Connecticut sales tax. Payments may be made with cash, check, MasterCard or Visa. Payment is due upon placement of order.
