Newborn Session Static Block
Please note: The following information pertains to babies under three weeks old. For older babies, please refer to the Baby Sessions section.
Newborn sessions may be done in my studio or in your home.
Working in my studio allows me to shoot in a controlled environment, with the perfect lighting and room temperature that are so important to the success of a newborn session. It also guarantees that you will have your pick of the full selection of blankets, wraps, and backdrops. However, having had two babies myself, I completely understand the need to just stay at home in your pjs and rest once your baby arrives. In that case, I would be happy to bring the studio to you!
Pricing information can be found on the Investment Page. If you are interested in doing a maternity session, a baby session, or a first-year session in addition to your newborn session, please ask about our multi-session discounts when inquiring.
It is never too early to book! In general, I have more flexibility in the winter months, with the warmer months and the holiday season being booked far in advance. However, even if you’re planning is last minute, there is always a chance I’ll have an opening.
When you book your session I will tentatively put you on the calendar for the closest opening following your due date. Once you deliver just give me a call within a few days (as it’s best to photograph newborns within the first 10 days of life) to confirm. If you deliver late or early we can always adjust the date.
For the best results, newborn sessions are typically done within two weeks of the baby’s birth. However, I have worked with babies up to three weeks old and gotten great results. As long as baby acne and colic aren’t present (the typical age that these things can begin to occur is around the three-week mark) and the baby is still sleeping well, the session should go smoothly.
