Long, lazy days. Warm nights. Lounging by the pool. Bonfires on the beach. Road trips. Sparklers. Mojitos. Flip flops. Popsicles. Outdoor concerts. Sprinklers. Painted toes. Sand castles. Bike rides. Carnivals. Beach reads. S’mores. Ice cream.
I love everything about summer. Even the 90+ degree days. But more than any other season, it goes FAST. I can’t believe it’s July already. In just two short months my boys will both be in school full-time. And then, in a blink, they’ll be working all summer, and asking for the keys to the car so they can hang out with thier friends, and getting ready to go off to college. I know it’s so cliche, but each year really does fly by faster than the last. So, this summer, I am going to make it a point to enjoy all of the small moments. And I am going to lug my camera around (my real camera, not my iPhone) and capture every goofy looking popsicle stained grin, scraped knee, and little sand-encrusted hand reaching out to hold mine.
The blog will be neglected (as if it wasn’t already) and the schedule will be light. Just a handful of openings left for newborn and family sessions before the fall. If you’re due before the end of September or you were thinking about beach pictures, book them now! My family and I are off to the Cape for a few weeks at the end of July and into August, and then the crazy fall rush begins. I’ll try to check back in here before then, but I can’t make any promises 🙂
Have a great summer!
