Both happen within the same session. Candid frames come naturally when a child is relaxed and engaged in front of the backdrop. More composed portraits happen when the child is ready to be directed. I pull both from every session, and the editing style is consistent either way.
Toddlers through early teens. Babies who are sitting independently but not yet walking are photographed in a sitter session, which is designed specifically for that stage.
These sessions are designed to highlight each child individually, but if you’d like to include siblings, we can add a few shots together at the end. If you’re interested in a full sibling session, let’s chat about the best way to approach it. If you’re bringing more than one child, mention it when you inquire so I can plan the session time accordingly.
Simple clothing in neutral or muted tones photographs best in the studio. Avoid busy patterns, large logos, and anything that competes with your child’s face. The studio wardrobe is available if you’d like options to pull from on the day of your session. A full prep guide with outfit suggestions is sent after booking.
The quality of the finished product starts with what happens during the session. I work with professional studio lighting and bring years of experience photographing children, which means I know how to light them well, direct them without making the session feel stiff, and get a genuine smile out of a kid who walked in with their arms crossed. That translates directly into the images. Prints, wall art, and albums available through the studio are produced to the same standard as the portraits themselves, so what ends up on your wall is something worth putting there.
Galleries are delivered digitally and include both color and black and white versions of your final images. Prints, framed wall art, and albums can be ordered directly through the studio after delivery.
Yes. Just mention that you’d like an after-school appointment when you inquire and I’ll work with your schedule.
