I offer cake smash sessions for younger children and classic milestone portraits for all ages. Photos are done in a simple, natural style with minimal props to keep the focus on your child.
All birthday portraits are taken in my Farmington, Connecticut studio, which is designed to provide a clean, neutral backdrop that complements my timeless photography style.
Every session includes complimentary access to the studio wardrobe, which includes a curated selection of neutral and classic outfits for children. I don’t offer prop-filled setups or themed backdrops, but I do have a small selection of simple accessories to complement the session. If you have something specific in mind, feel free to mention it when you reach out.
Parents and siblings are always welcome. For cake smash sessions, we typically start with family or sibling portraits before the cake comes out, and then everyone can jump in for a few frames during the smash as well. I offer different session tiers based on who you’d like to include, so there’s an option whether you’re looking for solo portraits of your child or a fuller family experience.
A cake is available to add to your session for an additional fee. If you’d prefer to bring your own, I’m happy to share bakery recommendations along with guidance on what type of cake photographs best.
Yes. Birthday and cake smash sessions are available as a standalone booking or as part of the First Year Membership, which bundles multiple sessions throughout baby’s first year, including maternity, newborn, sitter, and first birthday sessions. If you’re already a membership client, I will reach out as your baby’s first birthday approaches.
I recommend booking at least six weeks out, though the right timeline really depends on what you need the photos for. If you’re planning around a first birthday party or want portraits ready in time for invitations, factor in lead time on both ends: my bakery partner requires two weeks’ notice for the cake, and you’ll want to allow time after the session for editing and delivery before anything goes to print.
