So, you bought a fancy Digital SLR but you still shoot on Auto and you have no idea what the rest of the little icons on the dial even mean? Or, maybe you’ve ventured off of Auto a few times, but still aren’t really sure what you’re doing? If you were hoping to get more from your investment than frustration and a few so-so pictures, then it’s time for a few photography lessons.
My lessons are designed for moms (and dads, grandparents, etc.) who want to learn to take better photos of their children.
(Please note that these lessons are not intended for aspiring professionals, nor will they cover any post-processing techniques.)
Our next Moms Night Out class will be held on Tuesday, March 22nd, 2016 from 6:30 PM to 8 PM. THIS CLASS IS CURRENTLY FULL. To get on the mailing list and be notified when new classes are added, please contact the studio.

The Curriculum
Join us for complimentary drinks and refreshments, and the opportunity to meet and mingle with other local moms! This 1 1/2 hour workshop will walk you through all the essential beginner tips and tricks needed to beautifully capture family snapshots . Topics covered include:
- Basic Camera Modes
- Finding the Light
- Elements of Exposure
- ISO
- Shutter Speed
- Aperture
- Lens Overview
- Intro to Advanced Camera Modes
- Composition
Following the lesson there will be time for Q&A. I will also send you a PDF of the course materials, a list of some of my favorite resources and vendors.
Please note that even though most DSLRs have the same basic functionality, I do not know the ins and outs of YOUR specific camera! We will cover basic photography concepts, but if you would like to know how to resolve a technical issue with your camera, it may be time to dust off the ‘ol manual.
