INTRODUCING

The Childhood Edit

A minimalist portrait event

A curated portrait experience born from a desire to preserve the chapters that slip through our fingers. Classic children's portraits, captured in rich, timeless black and white, just for your child.

No rehearsed poses. No forced smiles. No cues to say cheese.

The Childhood Edit is a classic children's portrait experience with a modern eye. A clean, timeless black and white study of who your child is in this exact moment. Not the version they perform for the camera. The real one. Wild, quiet, curious, whatever that looks like on the day. No sharing the spotlight with a sibling or smiling perfectly for a family portrait, just their moment, entirely their own.

These portraits are designed to be modern archival heirlooms, the kind that command attention on your walls and only grow more meaningful as your child grows up.

When Was the Last Time You Saw a Photo of Your Child That Actually Felt Like Them?

Not the "cheese" smile. Not the pose you had to ask for three times. The real one. The candid, unscripted moment where they forget the camera is even there and you get to see exactly who they are right now.

That's what The Childhood Edit is built for. Editorial in style, but never staged. No script, no performance, just your child being exactly who they are in this exact chapter.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Quiet Guidance. Room For Them To Just Be.

The Childhood Edit is intentionally simple. No props, no elaborate sets, no distractions. Just clean black and white studio portraits and your child in an unhurried moment to just be themselves. I offer gentle guidance and posing, then let your child take it from there.

Sessions work best for kids who can settle into a quiet moment with a little direction, the kind of stillness that lets the candid, in-between expressions come through. If that sounds like your child, this is for them.

Feel free to bring along whatever your child is attached to right now, a favorite stuffed animal, a well-loved toy, anything that feels like them at this exact age. The goal is an editorial, classic children's portrait that captures this specific chapter exactly as it is, one that belongs entirely to them.

childhood edit FAQs

Is this session right for younger children?

The Childhood Edit works best for kids who can settle into a quiet moment with a bit of direction. Every child is different, so if you’re not sure whether your little one is a good fit, feel free to reach out before booking.

What if my child won’t sit still or cooperate?

That’s completely normal, and it’s part of why this session is different from a typical photo shoot. There’s no rigid pose list to get through. I offer gentle guidance and follow your child’s lead, so a wiggly or unpredictable moment often becomes part of the story rather than something to fight against.

Can I book a session for multiple siblings?

Yes. Additional siblings can be added to your session for an extra fee, which includes more time and an additional digital image. See the investment section above for the full breakdown.

What should my child wear?

Simple, solid colors work best for this style of portrait, since the focus stays on your child rather than a busy pattern or outfit. Full studio wardrobe access is included with your session if you’d like guidance or options once you arrive.

Can my child bring a toy or stuffed animal?

Absolutely. If there’s something your child is attached to right now, whether it’s a favorite stuffed animal or a well-loved toy, bring it along. It’s a great way to capture this specific age and stage.

How does the booking process work?

Session credits are available for a limited time. Purchase your credit now to secure your spot, then use it to book your session at a date and time that works for you. Sessions are available throughout the summer, with several dates and times to choose from, and all sessions must be completed by September 30, 2026.

Can I purchase a session as a gift?

Yes. Sessions can be purchased for yourself or gifted to another family.

READY TO BOOK?

Your child is only this age once. Let's capture who they are, right now.

Credits for The Childhood Edit are available for a limited time. A quieter kind of portrait, just for this chapter of childhood.
